A couple of times out of desperation, I have replaced H&P
photocells by going to Home Depot or Lowe's Home Centers and
buying an "eye" from the electrical isle for under $15 bucks
designed to mount in an electrical box to control outdoor signs or
lighting. Bored an appropriate size hole in the H&P Box and
wired in the new "eye". Seems like in on case, I had to add a
110vac armature relay to make sure I had heavy enough contacts to
carry the current. I pointed the eye in the correct direction
and, to my knowledge, that lash-up still turns those tower lights
on every evening and off every morning.

I actually just ordered a photocell to replace our old one from
They also have several variations of the sockets.
Ours is an old H&P system with the fixtures already
retrofitted already with LED. Our old photocell is a large
socket type mounted at the tower. I searched the model number on
the old photocell itself and found several used on ebay.

That doesn't look
anything like the old one and it's only rated for
1000watts, we have more than double that...

LCBD46DA7FS system isn't working. The lights
stay on all day. H&P says they can't help
us on this, they want us to change out the
whole lighting system to LED.
anyone know where to find a photocell that
would work on this system?
